Free TAXI Week! - How to Order

As we announced this morning, it’s FREE TAXI Week with Uber. It’s simple, all TAXIs requested through the Uber app are free, automatically, up to $20, through 11:59pm on Wednesday. It’s awesome and we’re pumped about it!

However, we do realize there was a bit of confusion given that Uber has the OPTION to either select a black car or a TAXI within the app. To be clear it is *only* the TAXI rides that are free this week, though of course the black car rides are still available at normal pricing.

To address this confusion, we have added the above app intro screen, which you will see the first time you open your app. This screen describes the two different cars available through the Uber app. Please note that you will need to select the TAXI button (right side of the picker) to request a TAXI. If you don’t see TAXI icons on the map, the ride will *not* be FREE.
